Spring RTA Celebration
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, we had to reschedule our Winter Doldrums party for April 12, 2026. It was definitely a hard winter! The party was held at the Polish American club in Whitehouse Station and luckily they were very gracious in allowing us to reschedule free of charge! Natural Horsemanship Demo
RTA President Lisa Hall hosted a Natural Horsemanship Demo at Margo's beautiful "Miles To Go" farm. Lisa first did liberty work with her Rocky Mountain Horse "Aramis" and explained how to work the horse in the round pen to get the horse to move away from pressure by moving his feet. She first applied pressure as he moved away, then showed the release of pressure as the horse expressed the major signs of submission including licking and chewing, lowering his head and turning


Reining Demo
RTA member Susan Auer hosted a western reining demo for RTA members along with her National Reining Horse Association accredited trainer Jeff in the indoor arena at Far-A-Way Farms. Jeff and Susan explained the training and exercises involved in developing a good reining horse. Susan's has worked with Jeff for several years to bring her AQHA gelding "Little" along from a green youngster to a lovely reining horse that is capable of many maneuvers. Driving Demo
Al and Karen hosted a driving demo at their farm for RTA members. Al's Halflinger Comet was our driving horse extraordinnaire for the demo. Al and Lisa gave a brief talk on driving safety and qualities to look for in a good driving horse. The importance of a suitable and well trained driving horse was explained.
