2011 Holiday Party!

RTA members, landowners and guests enjoyed a fun and delicious brunch at our annual holiday party held at the Stoney Brooke Grill in North Branch. The buffet was bountiful and included Eggs Benedict, made-to-order omlettes, freshly baked Belgiam Waffles, ham, turkey, roast beef, Pork Fricassee and more!

Following the food was a round of horse related door prizes and the ever popular gift exchange. Members of the Round Valley Youth Center joined us and gave a brief but informative presentation about the Youth Center and recent upgrades to the facilities. RTA will be exploring opportunities to hold future events at this great horse-friendly spot!

RTA 2011 Accomplishments

A BIG Thanks to all of our members, landowners and RTA HQ hosts for another just amazing year.  Together we were able to accomplish sooo much and the club continues to grow and contribute to the not only the horse community but also the larger Readington community as well.

Some of our accomplishments this year:

• Spring Hunter Pace
• Fall Halloween Poker Ride
• Beach Rides in the spring and fall
• 275 hours of trail clearing with LTD of 818 hours since we began tracking in 2008
• Charitable Donations to Readington Fire Houses, police and rescue squad
• Monthly club trail rides when weather permitted
• RTA Movie nights
• Volunteered at the CFA Pet Festival
• Annual holiday party
• Marched in the Whitehouse Memorial Day Parade
• Held our annual summer River Trail Ride and family BBQ
• Partnering with a local Girl Scout for her Gold Award for a trail project on the River Trail
• Our members participated in the Readington Parks, Recreation and Leisure Committee, Readington Open Space Committee, Hunterdon County Parks Advisory Board, and Hunterdon County CART
• And last but not least, the Cole Road Trail grant is completed which included clearing, grading and graveling a parking area and 2 field entrances, building a trail kiosk, trail head and parking area that is consistent with the other trail heads throughout Readington, and permanently marking Cole Rd West Greenway.
