2006 Cross Country Jump Build

A total of 10 brave volunteers showed up to participate in our first trail clearing/jump build event on November 18th. Several members had helped prepare for the big event by picking up the jump material so generously donated (and cleaned up/notched out) by Kariann and her husband. Several members had also scoped out and marked jump locations ahead of time.

Everyone arrived with high spirits and assorted tools, gadgets and high powered equipment for the work party.

As you can see below, we didn't get off to a great start. But, Carolyn came to the rescue with her dually and saved the day (way to go Carolyn!) (that was one heavvvvvy trailer with all the wood for the jumps on it)....

After our little initial mishap, we persevered and nonetheless succeeded in clearing, raking, digging, cutting, leveling, and trimming a number of locations and set up a total of 4 jumps that will be incorporated into the trail pace course.

Busy bees!

These girls can work- even with a broken arm!

Teamwork!

The Hercules Jump!

The Stump Farm Jump!

The Mister E. Jump- Who is the Mystery Man on the ground behind the jump- and what exactly is he doing? Hmmm???

Not pictured (we worked into the dark) is the "Bunny Hop Jump."

Many thanks to all for donating their time, talent, materials and creativity to our jump build effort. The day was a great success!
